Golfing

Established in 1926, the Maple Ridge Golf Course was one of the first courses built in the Fraser Valley and sits high above the mighty Fraser River. The 40 acre golf course was home to Maple Ridge founder, John McIvor and the first town meeting was held under a maple tree at this location. There are also several world-class golf courses within reach in the neighbouring communities.

Parks & Trails

Maple Ridge has an extensive network of parks and trails to meet your recreational needs. The trail network includes over 100 km of local riding and hiking trails, as well access to the nearby Kanaka Creek Regional Park.

 Cycling

Maple Ridge offers excitement and relaxation for cyclists of all levels. Try laid back biking along the 48 km of dykes that follow the Fraser and Pitt Rivers, or try a more challenging adventure cycling one of the Thornhill Mountain Biking Trails.

The Fraser River flows through Maple Ridge and is well-known for sturgeon and salmon fishing. The North and South Alouette Rivers contain salmon and the local lakes, including Alouette, Rolley, Mike and Whonnock, contain freshwater fish including: dolly varden, rainbow and cutthroat trout. Maple Ridge is also home to two local hatcheries: the Bell-Irving Hatchery located in Kanaka Creek Regional Park and the Allco Hatchery near Golden Ears Provincial Park. Birdwatching

Maple Ridge is a popular place for bird watching. With a variety of ecosystems, it's home to many species of birds from the black-capped chickadee to the steller's jay and some more rare birds like the California scrub-jay. Equestrian

Maple Ridge has an abundance of high profile equestrian trails that weave throughout the city so it's no wonder Maple Ridge is a wonderland for the equi-sports fans. Additional equestrian information and trail maps are provided by the Haney Horseman Association

Maple Ridge is just a short drive to the local mountains. We are located just one hour from Sasquatch Mountain Resort, Seymour Mountain, Grouse Mountain, Cypress Mountain and two hours from the world-class skiing resort at Whistler Blackcomb.
